When are full service professional real estate companies going to catch up?

Popular ForSaleByOwner website which makes less than 1/10 on a traditional real estate transaction than, lets say a Coldwell Banker or Remax of the world, has just inked a deal with WellcomeMat.com, a popular new do it yourself video service.
Its the companies like ForSaleByOwner, condoDomain, WellcomeMat and other small RE & TECH startups that are spending our money to enhance the future of real estate & technology with little or NO support from the big guys. Isn’t that just gross. ‘I tell ya what, I am starting to see a clearer future in NON-Traditional Real Estate Services, the Redfin’s and FSBO.com’s of the world…keep up the good work!
ForSaleByOwner.com, the nation’s leading for sale by owner real estate site, has partnered with online video aggregator WellcomeMat.com to provide customized video tours with each property listed on the site.
With more than 80% of home buyers looking online before stepping foot inside their first open house, online video tours give sellers a competitive edge in the selling process, according to Colby Sambrotto, COO of ForSaleByOwner.com. This is the first time that WellcomeMat’s groundbreaking video technology has been made available on a leading national real estate site.
Starting today, homes listed on ForSaleByOwner.com will have free access to the new online video tour service as an added feature to all ForSaleByOwner.com listing packages. Additionally, existing customers will be able to purchase this feature as an add-on service. For an example of a customized online video tour, please visit: https://www.forsalebyowner.com/vidpop.php
“We’re constantly introducing new ways for our sellers to showcase their homes online,” added Sambrotto. “Virtual tours have been popular in the past, but online video tours reflect the details and scope of each property that still photos and descriptions can’t match.” Check out the release on WellcomeMat.com

Our business model doesn’t include any print advertising for listings and in June our virtual tours will become video tours (yes, with the mat). It seems silly to advertise listings in certain media just because that is what everyone has done in the past. Why not market a listing where buyers are actually looking? We’ll see if any of the big brokerages take notice of this new partnership.
Thanks for covering this deal, and hats off to Condo Domain: you guys have been a company to watch for a long while. We believe that it is only natural for the companies without feet on the steet to move decisively towards online video. The fact that they big boys/girls are “fashionably late” to the video party doesn’t mean they won’t show up in style.
One thing is for sure: condoDomain has been doing video with style for a long while! Keep pushing the envelope.
They Christian any time… we are big fans of the Mat as you know!
