Real Estate is changing. Especially thanks to the power of video.

We all know the vast popularity of sites such as YouTube & Viddler…video has a powerful effect on everyone and now thanks to recent innovations in videos & technology, it can now be used more than ever for real estate purposes. Video has become a critical marketing tool, but in the real estate world, great video could very well prove to be a crucial sales tool.

Video cameras can actually be purchased quite affordably now and deliver a high quality product. Many video cameras, such as the Flip Video are so small and compact that you are able to carry them with you everywhere. In addition, there are several movie editing programs that are quite user-friendly to create great videos, cut out the parts you don’t want to include, add some snazzy effects, maybe a jingle or two, and you have created your very own, personal movie.

Real estate clients are seeking the experience of the home buying process and that experience can be truly enhanced by the use of video.

Here at CondoDomain, we love our videos. Whether we are filming client testimonials, condo development tours, or specific condo unit showings, we are constantly trying, testing, utilizing video as much as we can. Whether we post our video creations on our blog (which provides an interesting post), on our website (relates to our website visitors in a more personal manner), or just email or videos to our clients (which allows them more transparent information on a specific unit), the creations of videos inevitably enhance the consumer experience.

Not only has this enhancement increased our brand awareness…but has resulted in actual real estate transactions. We have had several clients that have requested that we send them a video to them of a particular unit and then ultimately purchased that specific unit!

Client Testimonials are key…that is why we video tape them!

There is always that debate on quality video versus quantity. While we strongly believe that videos can help your real estate business in several ways, we also agree that high quality video can never be replaced. However, we have proven that high quality video can be obtained very inexpensively and some times is not necessary in every real estate scenario. Video for real estate is a learning process with much experimentation. CondoDomain will continue to learn and experiment on all outlets, but always keeping the consumer experience as our first priority.

Stay tuned as we will continue to post updates on our CondoDomain blog on how video rocks!

Totally agree. I think video totally rocks. But sometimes it’s SO bad that I think it’s actually a detriment. It looks unprofessional. Blurry, shaky. Not good. Not when you’re trying to sell something worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. But I think with testimonials or a direct communication with a client (they’ll understand the low quality and appreciate the effort), I think it’s awesome. But to promote a listing? It really seems to do a disservice to the property and to the seller. Most are unwatchable. Just because you CAN do something doesn’t always mean you should. I think maintaining professionalism is far more important.

I agree Marlene, but with today’s technology a high quality video is much more attainable. It’s a trial and error sort of process depending on what type of audience you wish to attract. Thanks for the comment!

There needs to be a balance and inter relationship between the blogs to highlite, the website to hold core data, youtube video’s to promote and twitter to bring new eyes to your listings.

When combined effectively readership (viewers) will increase.

Thanks for a great posting!
To your continued success
