Seriously though, who do these people think they are that they can publish a value for my blog? They haven’t even read my blog! Their algorithm doesn’t even know about my blog’s widgets and I bet they haven’t factored in the value of my blog’s spam-filter! What comps are they using?!

A blog is really worth nothing without the great people that author them. I think many top blogs would lose their luster if their top voices left. Imagine if Michael Arrington left TechCrunch or Dustin and Ardell left Rain City Guide — I bet many of those blogs’ readers would follow them out the door.

Thanks for the link. I pasted it in my sidebar for fun. Last time I checked though, my blog was ‘worth’ $24. Now its ‘worth’ around ‘30K’ 2 short months later which makes me believe its probably not really worth anything. Still, its a cool thing to show my Mom who is 80 and still wondering why I’m not teaching high school English instead of selling real estate.

I was perturbed enough with my $564 result to try a few variations on my main blog URL.

themortgagereports.com is at $51k and 21stcmb.typepad.com is at $4k. Neither was close to $564/my suit.

Then, on a lark, I tried blog.bringtheblog.com. Presto! $564.

I must be losing my mind. I don’t remember typing that before.

I remember when that first came out… Must have been a year and a half ago and RCG was only worth $24K! Fun to see RCG has gone up more than 7X in value! LOL! Also cool to see that Greg could expect a 200K check for the Bloodhound Blog!
